Rainbow Montessori School primarily follows the methods developed by Maria Montessori in the early 1900′s. However, we incorporate current child development techniques into our curriculum as well. We are affiliated with the (AMS) American Montessori Society. The organization provides regular educational consultations. We are licensed by the State of California Social Service Department as well as the Department of Education. Evaluators visit our school regularly to ensure our compliance with all regulations.
Each class has a certified Montessori teacher and additional staff that meet or exceed student/teacher ratios. All teachers hold credentials in education. The director is also Montessori certified, holds her educational credentials and has been working in early childhood development since 1984.
My son graduated from Rainbow two years ago and my daughter is graduating in June 2013. Since leaving Rainbow, my son has absolutely thrived in kindergarten and first grade and I credit the Rainbow Montessori program for preparing him so well to work independently and to really enjoy what he is learning. I have no doubts that my daughter is equally as prepared for kindergarten. I have continued to be amazed at the amount my kids have learned at Rainbow Montessori from the continents (at age 3), to all the letters and numbers to 100, to reading books on their own! The teachers have really instilled a love of learning from the beginning and I am so grateful for this gift for my children.
